The Wine Area will once again be opening its gates on two days!

Time: 2. August, from 17.0024.00, and 3. August, from 13.0024.00
Place: City Centre Park (Kaubahoov Park)

In the wine area it is possible to sample different wines from every corner of the world. Present will be nearly 20 of the bigger and smaller wine importers from across Estonia, whose selections include pleasing wines for even the most demanding of tastes.

In addition to the feast for the palate, good company and pleasant music, visitors can also look forward to the antipasto buffet table, various workshops and the relaxing rhythms of bossa nova and jazz.

The Tartu City Wine will be selected once again with the support of the prestigious jury!

16:00-17:30 Tuscany’s Harmony

Beautiful scenery, exciting history, unique architecture, great climate and exquisite wines. Tuscany is all that and more. The tasting and discussion panel will be run by Mr Kristijan Oros from Felsina winery. NB! Lecture is in English!

17:30-19:00 Sicily – the most interesting wine region of Italy today!

We will discover some unique areas and local grapes of Sicily as well as taste proper Sicilian wines. The panel is hosted by one of our most knowledgeable sommeliers, Mr Aivar Vipper

17:30-19:00 It’s the smell of roses!

Once the ugly duckling of wines, rosè is now taking the world by storm. The panel is hosted by Mr Erbi Kildjer who has pledged his love to all great wines for more than two decades.

19:00-20:30 Champagne and its vintages              

What does vintage mean when we are talking about champagne?! Which champagne to drink, which to store and which to avoid, will be taught to us by the President of Estonian Sommelier Association, Mr Kristjan Markii.

15:00-16:30 The unique grapes and wines of Portugal

Portugal, with its more than two hundred unique grape varieties, is gaining more and more footing and popularity across the world. And for a good reason. We will discuss and taste some of the most promising wines with the insight of the President of the Estonian Sommelier Association, Mr Kristjan Markii.

Man of wines extraordinaire, Mr Erbi Kildjer will take us to the Tour de Wine with classic method sparkling wines from Sekt to Champagne from all over the globe.

18:00-19:30 Alsace’s Symphony

What if the happy-go-lucky attitude of the French will join forces with German precision and love of detail… Mr Arnaud Baur a fifth-generation Grand Cru winemaker from Eguisheim, a picturesque village in Alsace, is leading the panel. We will also taste a variety of cheeses from Juustuvabrik. NB! Lecture is in English!
