In addition to culinary delights, the festival offers a rich selection of wines from various regions around the world. Visitors can take part in tastings and receive expert advice from Estonia’s top sommeliers. The wine area features both large and small Estonian wine importers, ensuring that even the most demanding gourmet will find a favorite in the selection. Several wine-related trainings and events will also take place in different venues around Tartu during the festival week.
Access to the wine area is free of charge.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own wine glass for tastings or purchase one on-site for €3.
Wine glasses are not part of the deposit return system.
Wine courses require prior registration and are subject to a fee. Courses are held in Estonian unless stated otherwise.
During the festival week, participants of all Wine Festival events receive 50% off admission to the Tartu Art Museum upon presentation of their event ticket.

18:00 Special Screening of the Wine Documentary Sour Grapes at Elektriteater
The film tells the story of one of the biggest frauds in the wine world. Indonesian-born businessman and wine collector Rudy Kurniawan supplied wealthy wine enthusiasts with counterfeit Burgundy wines for years. It is a story of how forged wines and human vanity helped generate millions of dollars—and how hubris eventually caught up with him.
All attendees will receive a complimentary glass of wine at Vein ja Vine upon presentation of their movie ticket. Please note: the wine is guaranteed to be 100% authentic!

After the wine tasting, the experience continues with a guided tour of the Tartu Art Museum’s exhibition Kitchen Art: A Food Story Painted with a Brush, led by curator Aavo Kokk. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and invites participants to explore food-related artworks through the lens of wine and food pairings. Workshop participants can visit all museum exhibitions free of charge after the tour.
